This past weekend we once again participated in the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon Expo. Besides being just a few miles from our kitchen, this race holds a special place as Enduro Bites has attended it longer than any other event.
I recently had a chance to catch-up with Payson in Durango ahead of his big race at the Leadville 100 this weekend and thought I'd ask a few questions so everyone can learn more about the two-time defending marathon mountain bike national champion.
Big weekends -- our mini vacations sneaking off to some nearby local to mountain bike, road ride, run, or hike -- are what motivate many of us to get through the work week. By Monday morning we're often considering our next adventure. Lately I had gotten a little too busy with work and had difficulty coordinating with friends. The Tour de France is once again upon us. While I don’t watch the race as religiously as I once did (the hype, doping scandals, and related politics have soured me), I’m still fascinated by the big climbing stages.
